Can’t visit loved ones during the holidays but are getting tired of Zoom calls? How about sending Edible Countdown to Christmas, which are 24 recipes to print and mail from 19 inns, beds and breakfasts and boutique hotels across the county. These mailable postcards are a yummy way to count down the days until Christmas and also try out new recipes. The recipe postcards measure 9-inches by six-inches and can be downloaded and printed on regular size paper. Affix the design to heavier card stock, stamp and mail.

“The idea is to count your blessings, not calories,” says Erin Gilchrist, innkeeper with A Tuscan Estate Bed & Breakfast in McMinneville, OR. “By making these postcards free to download, we’ve whipped up a way to bring people together, regardless of location and circumstance.

Among the recipes in this edible Advent calendar are: baked apple cider donuts with a maple glaze, cranberry orange scones, wild mushroom and spinach roulade and herb bread dressing. Some of the participating inns include BlissWood Bread and breakfast Ranch in Cat Spring, TX., Hotel Saugatuck in Saugatuck, MI and Wildberry Lodge in Leicester, NC.
